Trying to

Understand

My brain.

And also

To not let

My energy

Drain.

But my efforts

Won’t produce

Any gain.

As slowly,

But painfully,

I go insane.

Good expression of the energy drain of philosophy. Ownership is a problem. To say I, myself observe the strange behavior and workings of “My Brain” makes two entities. The “observer I” is apart from the rest: “the brain.” Who will observe the observer. If “I” am separate from everything else, does the brain observe me. Where am I located if I can observe the whole brain. If given a chance, the part you’re analyzing would say, “It is I, the other, who is trying to understand you who claims to be me. So I will now control the analysis and you are the other. I will decide what’s to be understood. You are not me, I am not you, as long as there are two of us.” It might be easier to say that “I” am not my brain, and it is a biochemical machine that “I” use. I own my liver but “I” am not the liver. I make a drawing with a pencil but I am not a pencil. To see oneself completely is the insanity of loneliness. The problem with looking into a mirror is that if you are right-handed, the mirror person is left-handed. If you raise your right hand to swear the truth, the mirror person raises its left hand.
