“Develop a passion for learning. If you do, you will never cease to grow.” – Anthony J. D’Angelo
Learning can encompass diverse aspects: Acquiring a new skill, working on improving one’s personality, reading a new book, researching on a new topic, meeting new people, etc. are activities that contribute towards our growth as individuals, and as members of a global society. Whenever we make efforts towards learning something, even something small, it opens up a vast horizon of opportunities for us. We may not become proficient at every single thing we wish to learn, but we certainly benefit from it and gain some amount of experience. Motivating ourselves to become the best version of who we are by making consistent efforts to learn new things, or even explore new things can make us happier, and enrich our lives. And it is never too late to learn something. Every day is an opportunity to start again and every moment is an opportunity to learn something new.
I wish to learn the following things: Taking constructive criticism positively, appreciating the people around me, writing short stories and flash fiction, inculcating time management, meditation and yoga. In the upcoming months, I will do my best to actively work towards each of these things and work towards becoming a better version of myself!
Would love to hear what all of you wish to learn, feel free to put your thoughts in the comment section!
P.S. I’d especially love to hear about the following people because I absolutely love their blogs and have been following them for over two years because their works deeply resonate with me!

We learn something new everyday.. Experience is the best teacher on life’s payroll. I’m currently learning about investing and how to manage, save and grow my money most effectively. I would also love to try and experiment with different formats of writing. My professional goals are also on the list. There’s a sea of information out there and so much to learn if only we have what it takes and if we are willing to do what it takes.
I’m so happy and honoured that I have made it to your list. Thank you so much ❤️
Sorry that it’s been a while since I have written something. Time has become a precious commodity these days.

No matter our age, we can learn something to treasure every precious day. Being retired after 40 years of teaching, I still look forward to learning. My writing brings new windows of learning, and reading others’ inspirations here on WP continues to fuel that desire. I appreciate you sharing some kind words about my blog.

Crochets are so beautiful, I’ve been wanting to learn how to make them for some time, perhaps I’ll start this year!
Good luck to you for learning both of those things, I’m sure you’ll nail it! ❤

For me, in this place and time in my life, it’s not so much about learning, for myself. In my 50+ years, I’ve learned so much, especially about love. How to be, and how to give love true. My oldest, turned 33 yesterday. For him, I want to see his heart thrive, flourish. Watch him become the man, I know he will be. My only daughter, passed a few months ago. My learning, will be to let my heart, live every tomorrow for her, by sharing with the world. Like here, in this moment. My youngest son, the same for him. Be everything, his heart desires. My wife, has many health issues, and has to be home. And my learning, how to Never, make her feel a burden. My ultimate learning, how to carry them, and let the weight, be too much. And let God’s love, forever be my strength, through it all.
With all your learning, my friend. My growth, be what your heart finds. Be blessed!

I love developing my skills, I am 58 and still looking to develop and gain more skills and challenge myself in work. I study writing courses when at home, I am looking to write a book with a hope of it being published. I think it’s vital to have aspirations, hope and dreams and not to be afraid to shoot high. I think learning from others is vital and from what we do and see going on around us in life. It’s also important to engage and connect with others to see how others think and live because it gives us an insight into how diverse people are. Diversity is such a good thing for personal growth and for understanding so we can learn tolerance and respect for peoples ways, we should not expect others to adapt to our norms. Learning is a privilege denied to many and so if we can do this we should embrace every opportunity to do so. When I retire I hope to do something new, creative and innovative maybe. As I state in my blog, there’s plenty of time to rest when we’re gone but while we are still here we must keep challenging ourselves, so keep up the good work and don’t be afraid to try new things or let opportunities pass you by. Decide what you want from life, then create it and live it my friend. 🙏 Faux

This is such a beautiful comment, thank you for sharing! I agree with every word, learning is certainly a vital part of human life and like you said, “we should embrace every opportunity to do so”. Engaging and connecting with others too, is a significant for development of oneself because it helps us in gaining new perspectives, becoming a better person and learning about the diversity of human life. You have also rightly said that we mustn’t be afraid to shoot high, because big dreams are what enable us to realize at least a fraction of our aspirations. I hope you have a great experience of writing your book, and that it gets published. It is always a delight to read your posts, and I wish you all the best for all that you hope to write in the future. Thank you again, for your wonderful comment!

Hi, Isha! Here are a few things that come to mind.
(1) At this time in my life (77, going on 78), I’m learning to die a bit each day. That means I’m learning to sort out what’s super important right now (as I anticipate death), and give it the attention it needs.
(2) I’m still learning to be as transparent as possible in my writing. Most of my life I wasn’t able to be transparent–except in private journals and with people who helped me grow up as an adult. Sometimes I struggle with second-guessing what I’ve posted. It’s not always easy to speak directly. On the other hand, I find writing poetry, as well as reading the poetry of others, very helpful. Usually, the poem comes first–followed by comments I didn’t have in mind when I began. A bit of an adventure!
(3) Finally, I’ve had to learn to write for a broader audience than I had when I was teaching seminarians. It’s easy to get stuck in what I call “Christianese” vocabulary. My rule for my students was that you don’t understand a concept (of any kind) until you can describe what it looks like in real life. Now I’m having to work on that for myself–without depending on approved words or phrases or ideas we too often take for granted.
I applaud your list of things you’d like to do/learn! Thanks so much for putting me on your list. I’m honored and grateful.

These are all such worthy goals, thank you for sharing! I can especially relate to the second point because I often struggle to put trust in people, although writing has certainly helped me become more efficient at sharing my innermost thoughts. Poetry significantly helps me in this regard. Your poems, are exceptionally beautiful, and your thoughts on other people’s poetry too, are a delight to read. I also hope you experience an enriching journey of learning all three of these things. Wishing you good luck!
